A woman has been charged with multiple child abuse offences after police executed a morning raid in central-west NSW as part of an ongoing investigation into the online sexual exploitation of children.
Detectives attached to Strike Force Trawler arrested a 35-year-old woman at a property in Gilgandra at about 7.15am on Tuesday.
This followed a report received by the Sex Crimes Squad’s Child Exploitation Internet Unit on Saturday after child abuse material was detected and linked to an account holder based in the state’s central-west.
Footage of the arrest released by NSW Police showed the woman in handcuffs being escorted by two detectives down the street to an unmarked cop car.
The words ‘I love country music’ were emblazoned on the back of her jumper, along with the number 84.
The woman was taken to Dubbo Police Station, where she was charged with four counts of using a carriage service to make child abuse material.
She was also charged with one count of hindering or resisting a police officer in the execution of their duty.
The woman spent the night in custody and will appear in Bail Division Local Court on Wednesday.
