Lenny Kravitz can’t get leather pants off his mind, even at the gym.
After all, the “Fly Away” singer shared insight into his decision to wear the not-so-practical article of clothing while working out.
“I perform onstage in leather, denim, whatever, so those are the pants I wear to train,” Kravitz told Men’s Health in an interview published July 14. “It also means I can fit in a workout anytime, anywhere.”
Instead of using a fitness watch to track his workouts, the Hunger Games alum said he uses his 28-inch waist size as a reference.
“I can gauge everything by how I’m in my pants,” he added. “If my pants are a little tight, I know I’m getting outta’ shape. My friend Denzel Washington gave me this phrase, ‘The pants don’t lie, the pants don’t lie.'”
Although the 62-year-old—who shares daughter Zoë Kravitz, 37, with ex-wife Lisa Bonet—is happy with how he looks, he does sometimes feel insecure about his leather-concealed legs.
