Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem lead star-studded LA crowd for Spain’s World Cup quarter-final with Belgium

Brad Pitt headlined the A-listers soaking up the action between Spain and Belgium as the actor made a return to the World Cup on Friday.

La Roja took on Belgium in a quarterfinal clash in the searing heat of Los Angeles, just four days after the Red Devils defeated the USA.

And a plethora of famous faces turned out for the occasion as Spain looked to seal their spot in the semifinals of the World Cup for the first time since 2010 when they won the tournament in South Africa.

Most notably, Pitt, 62, was spotted taking in the action from a luxury VIP suite in the stands at Los Angeles Stadium.

The Hollywood star had seemingly expected the USMNT to triumph over Belgium on Monday night, meaning they would have been the ones to face Spain in the quarterfinals.

The filmmaker sported a USA jersey, while trying to keep a low profile in a backwards white baseball cap and aviator-style sunglasses.

He was joined by his girlfriend, jewelry designer Ines de Ramon, 33, just one week after they attended Taylor Swift’s wedding to Travis Kelce together.

While she was born in New Jersey, De Ramon is of Spanish descent and she made her allegiances clear on Friday, wearing an Adidas Spain vest top with red and yellow stripes painted on her face.

The couple shared a box with Spanish actress Penelope Cruz and her husband Javier Bardem.

The Vicky Cristina Barcelona stars naturally cheered on their native Spain with Bardem sporting the team’s red home jersey while Cruz opted for the white away shirt.

Bardem’s own jersey was a gift from Spanish player Borja Iglesias, who had given the Oscar-winning actor a shirt with ‘B. Iglesias’ on the back with the No 26.

Bardem proudly wore the personalized jersey to Friday’s game, showing off the back as he stood on the sidelines ahead of kickoff.

At one point during the first half, an animated Cruz could be seen swiveling in her seat to look back and point at Pitt and De Ramon, who appeared to laugh in response.

The Jamón Jamón sensation was also spotted in an enthusiastic conversation with Noel Gallagher.

The Oasis star attended the showdown with his son Jack ahead of England’s own quarterfinal clash against Norway on Saturday.

Belgium’s royal family was also in attendance with King Philippe watching the game alongside the Royal Belgian FA’s President Pascale Van Damme.

However, there was no sign of Spain’s own royalty with King Felipe and Queen Letizia visiting Pamplona earlier this week for the beginning of the Festival of San Fermin celebrations.

The 23-year-old, who is currently one of the biggest pop sensations in the US, wowed in a black Adidas jacket with a matching t-shirt underneath and white baggy jeans.

Meanwhile, NFL star Myles Garrett, who is set to suit up for the Los Angeles Rams this season, and his Olympic girlfriend Chloe Kim were also shown on the big screen.

Garrett will call the Los Angeles Stadium – usually named SoFi Stadium – home for the first time when the NFL season gets underway in September, following his blockbuster trade from the Cleveland Browns last month.

In the game itself, Fabian Ruiz had broken the deadlock in the 30th minute, putting La Roja ahead by sliding the opener past Thibaut Courtois.

However, the Red Devils leveled shortly before halftime thanks to Charles De Ketelaere, who nodded past Unai Simon.
