Rob Reiner Earns Posthumous Nomination for The Bear


Detailing what it was like to be one of the last actors to work with Reiner, Gibson confessed it was “emotional” to think about.  

“It was just really, really great moments with someone that you grew up watching in front of the camera,” he told The Standard in an interview published June 24, “then behind the camera.”

In the wake of Reiner’s sudden death at 78, Gibson felt gratitude for the opportunity to work with the Hollywood icon.

“All those days that Rob and I spent together were a lot of fun,” he continued. “I’m really happy that it looks like, ‘Oh, they must have spent so much time’, when in actuality we just had such a great chemistry immediately.”
