Donald Trump is asking a New York federal judge not to require him to pay $5 million to the woman he was found liable for sexually abusing until the Supreme Court can reconsider his appeal.
The President’s lawyers argued in a Tuesday evening court filing that E. Jean Carroll cannot receive the money until the Supreme Court rejects Trump’s new petition, following the court’s denial of his initial petition last month.”
Carroll sued Trump in 2022 for defamation and battery in a civil case, alleging that the President had sexually assaulted her in the spring of 1996 in a dressing room at the Bergdorf Goodman department store in New York City.
