A 30-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a woman in her 50s was found dead in a property.

Officers say the death is being treated as ‘unexplained’ as enquiries continue to ‘determine the full circumstances of what happened’.

They added a woman, 30, from Netherton had been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

A post mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of death.

Photos from the scene show the area cordoned off as emergency service vehicles line the road.

Forensics could also be seen coming and going from a building in the corner of a close.

Detective Inspector Sara Lang said: ‘Our thoughts at this time are with the family of the woman who has sadly passed away.
