Woman is charged with murder after young boy, 4, is found dead with significant arm injuries


A woman has been charged with murder after a four-year-old boy was found dead on the Central Coast.

A 32-year-old woman arrived at Wyong Police Station at 4.40pm on Saturday.

Officers were unable to communicate with her, but were directed to a nearby home on Byron Street to perform a welfare check. 

It’s understood police found the body of a child with significant injuries to his arm.

The 32-year-old woman, believed to be known to the boy, was arrested.

She was charged with murder (DV) on Sunday.

The woman was refused bail and will appear before Bail Division Court 6 today. 

Police established a crime scene shortly after the body was located.

No weapon has been seized.

NSW Police described the scene as ‘confronting’ for all officers ‘and emergency service workers that were there’.

The woman and boy were the only ones living in the unit.
