A man has been charged with murder after a woman was allegedly shot dead inside a home.

The 23-year-old woman was found fighting for life at a property on Loder Street in Biggera Waters, on the Gold Coast, at 8pm on Sunday.

She succumbed to her injuries and was declared dead at the scene.

A 23-year-old man was arrested.

He has been charged with one count each of murder (domestic violence) and unlawful possession of weapons (category H) used to commit indictable offence (domestic violence).

The man will appear at Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.

‘No other people were injured and there was no threat to the public,’ a Queensland Police spokesman said.

Investigations are ongoing.
