Former Vice President Kamala Harris is facing a fresh wave of online mockery after her latest interview was slammed as a ‘word salad’ response.
Harris appeared on ex CNN anchor Don Lemon’s podcast Friday, where she reflected on what the word ‘hope’ means to her and to Americans.
‘I really, truly believe this. We each have light inside of us. And we need to know that that is what inspires our hope as much as anything external to ourselves,’ Harris said to Lemon.
‘And when we feel that, and not allow an election or an individual to dampen that light, and instead light – let that light carry us in particular moments of darkness, that, that we not only act on that hope, but we inspire that hope in each other,’ she added.
‘And, in particular, at this moment, it is so important that we not only have hope, but that we understand that that should be a verb.’
Lemon sat wide-eyed as Harris spoke, remaining still and offering little reaction to her meandering answer.
Social media users blasted her response, with one writing: ‘Good word salad answer that can be summed up in two words: Stay positive.’
Another ripped into the past presidential candidate: ‘Did she buy some certificates from the internet on life coaching – she should ask for a refund.’

Critics claimed Don Lemon could not bring himself to nod along As Harris rambled
‘After listening to that masterpiece of word salad, I’m convinced Einstein had it easy,’ another quipped.
Others pointed to Lemon’s reaction during the exchange.
‘Don Lemon couldn’t even pretend to nod along as if she was saying something meaningful,’ one user slammed.
Another replied: ‘I feel bad for Don Lemon because he had to interview her.’
Many noted that the word already has established definitions as both a noun and a verb.
‘It’s a noun: “I have hope that she never runs for any government office again,”‘ an X user wrote.
‘And it is a verb: “I hope she never runs for any government office again,”‘ they added.
Lemon trudged on in the interview, asking Harris if she is considering another run for president in 2028.

Social media users poked fun at Don Lemon, saying they felt bad that he had interviewed Harris
‘I have not decided, to be honest with you,’ the former vice president said.
‘I’ve been spending a lot of time traveling the country, listening to folks. I think that people want a leader who is willing to take risks, as opposed to just doing what is popular.
‘I think people want to know that they are being seen and heard, and that their leaders – whether they’re at the local, state, federal level or in the White House – are looking first at the people. You know, not looking at themselves in the mirror,’ Harris said.
