An adorable three-year-old girl was tragically killed in a hit-and-run after a teenage boy allegedly stole his parents’ car for a joyride.
Jordan Bright was killed on June 20 in Baltimore, Maryland when she was struck by a car at an intersection in front of her horrified family.
Police said the infant sustained severe injuries at the scene, and she was pronounced dead at a nearby hospital shortly after.
The driver of the vehicle, a 14-year-old boy who has not been named, fled the scene and was arrested later that day, police said.
The car in the fatal collision was quickly tracked down through a description given by the teenager’s family, which had reported the vehicle as stolen shortly before the crash.
A witness to the tragedy, Gloria Boyce, said Bright was struck by the car as she crossed the road with her family, and described the impact as ‘sounding like two cars colliding together.’
‘(I saw) the lady on the sidewalk holding her child, and her child looked lifeless,’ Boyce told WBAL.
‘The other three kids that she had (were) screaming. I didn’t know what was going on until I seen the child, so I tried to help her other babies, you know, try to keep them together because they were screaming. They were traumatized.’

The teenager who allegedly drove the stolen car was arrested but has not yet been charged, and Baltimore police said they were working with the state’s attorney to determine if he will face charges.
Tributes have poured in for Bright following her senseless death, with a GoFundMe set up by her family describing the three-year-old as a ‘precious child with a bright future ahead of her.’
‘She should have had countless more birthdays to celebrate, first days of school to experience, dreams to pursue, and memories to create with those who loved her,’ they wrote.
‘Instead, her mother, father, siblings, and loved ones are now facing the unimaginable pain of saying goodbye far too soon.’
Her mother Ny Jada shared pictures of her daughter smiling and laughing with her siblings in the past, as she wrote in a post, ‘It’s going to be a long life here on earth without you.’
‘Every day, I wake up and see that it’s a new day, I’m broken more than the day before,’ she wrote in another post.
‘Because life really not going to stop for my baby? Just like that stupid 14-year-old didn’t.’

A vigil set up at the scene where Bright was tragically struck and killed
Pastor Stacey Bryson said Bright’s mother called her right after the crash, describing it as hearing ‘the screams and the cries of a mom who just experienced the most tragic day of her life…it was horrific.’
The pastor said the Bright family are deeply involved in Nehemia House Ministries, and said they would often bring Jordan to their church.
‘She would greet you with hugs and big smiles. She always had her hair beautifully braided, and she would always make sure you saw her hair and showed off her beads. And she loved roller skating, even at three,’ Bryson told CBS News.
