Phil Foden’s partner Rebecca Cooke was forced to intervene after OnlyFans influencer Lily Phillips tried to speak to the Manchester City star at a boxing match. 

Foden, 26, had been sitting ringside at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday to watch Tommy Fury’s bout with Eddie Hall when footage of the incident went viral. 

Phillips, who shot to fame after claiming to have slept with 101 men in one day, could be seen making a beeline for Foden before being spotted by his long-term girlfriend.

Clad in a black dress, Cooke then quickly began waving Phillips away while she tried to talk to the bemused England star as he enjoyed some downtime. 

A clip of the awkward interaction has since racked up thousands of views on social media, with fans praising Cooke for stepping in. 

Foden and the 23-year-old have been dating since their days in school together in Stockport and now share three children.

One fan wrote: ‘Fair play to Mrs Foden.’

Another penned: ‘Phil Fodens wife is the boss.’

While one more posted: ‘Wonder what she was going to say to him.’ 

At the Misfits boxing event which Foden attended, Tyson Fury’s younger brother Tommy edged to victory against Hall on points in the night’s showpiece fight. 

One judge scored it as a draw while two others awarded the fight to Fury, who revealed that his new-born baby boy with Molly-Mae Hague is called ‘Midas’ before the bout. 

Foden was able to show his support after being left out of Thomas Tuchel’s World Cup squad last month, following an underwhelming domestic campaign. 

The midfielder registered 10 goals and seven assists for City, but England’s German manager chose to leave him out in favour of Morgan Rogers, Jude Bellingham and Eberechi Eze.   

The Three Lions will get their World Cup campaign underway on Wednesday night against Croatia in Dallas and, speaking at the boxing event, Foden insisted that he will be cheering the side on from home.

‘I’m looking forward to it,’ he said. ‘Obviously I’m going to watch England. I hope they do well, I’m rooting for them. I believe they can win it.’

However Foden’s Man City teammate Nico O’Reilly, who is set to feature in his first World Cup, revealed that the England ace was ‘gutted’ to have missed out on the tournament. 

Speaking to reporters at England’s plush team hotel in Kansas City, Missouri, over the weekend, O’Reilly said: ‘I spoke to Phil and he’s gutted. I’ve played with both (Foden and Cole Palmer) and they’re amazing. 

‘It’s unfortunate for them not to make the squad and they’ll be gutted but now is the time to rest and be ready for next season.’

Following his departure last month, City will head into a season come the start of August without Pep Guardiola at the helm for the first time in a decade. 

The Sky Blues are understood to be in ‘advanced talks’ to replace the Spaniard with former Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca, with a compensation package being discussed with the London club.

Maresca, who learned his trade coaching in City’s youth setup, won the Club World Cup and the Conference League during his 18 months at Stamford Bridge.
