The man at the centre of the ‘stepmum scandal’ gripping Queensland has been arrested over the very incident that made him famous.
Gold Coast builder Levi Hilton was taken into custody on Monday, after allegedly breaking into the home of his ex-partner Jessica Te Huia and discovering her with his 19-year-old son Lorenzo Hilton at about 4am on June 1.
A week later, on June 8, he posted a video on his Instagram capturing the moment he stormed into the bedroom and confronted them both.
The footage has since been viewed by millions, inspiring countless memes.
Hilton now faces six charges relating to a string of alleged offences that occurred between late May and early June.
The clip that kicked off the saga showed a furious Hilton bursting into a bedroom and finding 38-year-old Te Huia, whom he had recently been dating, asleep in her underwear next to Lorenzo, his 19-year-old son from a previous relationship.
Hilton allegedly pulled back the covers, jabbed his fingers towards Te Huia’s face and repeatedly demanded to know whether the pair had been having sex.
Te Huia previously told the Daily Mail that the footage was captured after Hilton had allegedly broken into her home and unlocked her bedroom door using a butter knife.

Jessica Te Huia and Hilton’s son Lorenzo (pictured together) later confirmed they were in a ‘stable’ romantic relationship; however, Te Huia has since clarified they are just dating

‘I’m glad he has been arrested and that this is being taken seriously,’ Te Huia told the Mail.
‘I just want people to know what else [allegedly] went on in the weeks before this happened.
‘People think I’m just deflecting the situation because Lorenzo is 19 and I “groomed” him. But the fact is I didn’t even know Lorenzo before he was 18.’
In an extraordinary admission to the Mail last week, Hilton confirmed what Te Huia said about breaching the door with a butter knife – and also said that he was subject to a protection order made on Te Huia’s behalf that remains before the courts.
The scandal later took a darker turn when Hilton posted a video to his Instagram Stories in which he allegedly threatened Lorenzo’s life.
‘Damn, my boy [has] been talking some s***. Acting like his father won’t f***ing ‘sleep’ him,’ he said in a piece-to-camera.
‘I brought you into this earth and I’ll take you f***ing right out of it too, boy. I f***ing wrote the book, son.’
During an online tirade last Tuesday, Hilton said: ‘I’ll happily rot in a cell, so long as I get my s**t out.’

In the original video Hilton posted last Monday, Hilton stormed into a bedroom and captured footage of himself peeling back the covers to show Te Huia and Lorenzo in their underwear
Queensland Police confirmed at the time they were investigating the alleged death threat.
When contacted by the Mail last week and asked if he was aware he had allegedly posted a video that could be construed as a death threat, Hilton denied that it existed.
‘Nah. I didn’t… Not that I can recall,’ he said. ‘Is it still there?’
In the original video Hilton posted on Monday morning, he seemed red-hot with anger while peeling back the covers to reveal Te Huia and Lorenzo in their underwear.
‘Why are you in her bed?’ he asked Lorenzo, before turning the camera toward Te Huia.
‘I’m not doing anything, bro,’ replied Te Huia, whose eyes were still closed, as she demanded Hilton get out of her house.
‘Are you having sex with my son? Are you?’ he fumed. ‘Why is my son in your bed?’
‘My 19-year-old boy… here’s proof. Proof’s in the pudding. You’re in undies with my son.’
She responded: ‘I’m always in undies, bro… I haven’t even done anything, Levi.’
Hilton was refused police bail and was due to appear at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
He has been charged with various offences, including one count each of distribute prohibited visual recordings (domestic violence offence), enter dwelling and commit domestic violence offence, and driving of motor vehicle without a driver licence.
A Queensland Police spokesperson told the Daily Mail investigations are continuing.
