A photo has emerged of the age-gap couple at the centre of the Australian ‘stepmum saga’ on a romantic date just days after their split was announced.
Jessica Te Huia, 38, and Lorenzo Hilton, 19, became viral overnight celebrities after a video showing the pair in bed together at 4am spread like wildfire on social media.
The footage was filmed by Lorenzo’s furious father, Levi Hilton, who burst into his ex-partner Te Huia’s bedroom in the early hours of June 1 and recorded her asleep in her underwear next to his son from a previous relationship.
The video has now been watched by millions as Queenslanders become hooked on what feels like a real-life soap opera.
Hours after Hilton shared the clip online, Te Huia and Lorenzo confirmed they were a couple and in a ‘stable’ relationship. But in a twist just days later, Te Huia announced to the Daily Mail that they had gone their separate ways.
Now the saga has taken another turn: an image of the pair surfaced over the weekend of Te Huia and Lorenzo kissing at a bar, seemingly confirming a romantic reunion.
But Te Huia has now set the record straight.
Speaking to the Mail, she said the pair had taken a step back from their whirlwind romance and were now getting to know each other through old-fashioned dating.

Having grown close as her turbulent relationship with Hilton fell apart, they are now taking things slowly as the heat from the ‘stepmum scandal’ dies down.
While they aren’t exclusively dating, Te Huia says they have not ruled out becoming an official couple further down the track.
‘We went out to kind of break the ice after everything that happened,’ she explained.
‘We had an amazing time and played games and moved through different challenges, like an escape room, and then we went to dinner after.
‘We love each other and we are spending time together and trying to navigate it.
‘We won’t stand down from this or hide away. If Lorenzo can stand up to his father, then he can do anything and nothing can stop us.’
As for making it official, Te Huia said: ‘Never say never and if the universe brings us back together, then so be it, but for now Lorenzo has goals and I’m so proud of him.’
For now, however, Jess is focused on making the most of her newfound fame after the pair were mobbed by members of the public during their date.

Gold Coast builder Levi Hilton (pictured) was incandescent with rage when he found his son Lorenzo in bed with his former partner Jessica Te Huia. His video of the discovery went viral

Lorenzo declared his love for his father’s ex via text message. Hilton replied, ‘Save it, mate’
‘They love us,’ she declared.
‘Everyone noticed us and wanted to talk and one person wanted Lorenzo to follow them back on socials and they were so happy when he did.
‘People asked for selfies and called their mates on FaceTime to show them they had seen us.
‘On the second night out for dinner, we actually tried to pick a more secluded table and eventually we had to say no more selfies because it was getting too much.’
While the viral video and the couple’s unconventional relationship have sparked fierce debate online, Te Huia says the reaction in public has been overwhelmingly positive.
Now she hopes to turn her notoriety into a television career.
‘My friends have always told me I was born for reality TV and I’d love to do it,’ she said.
‘I would love to be on [British TV series] The Only Way Is Essex and I am known for my Essex accent.
‘I am English, I’m Italian and Egyptian and Finnish. I could have my own show – The Only Way is Jess, or The Only Proof is in the Pudding.
‘I love to go on Big Brother. People tell me to do Love Island, but I’m known for relationships now and I’m really intelligent, to be fair, so I think a show with challenges would be great to show people what I can do.
‘I want to recreate my identity. Even me and Lorenzo could do a show together.’
But Te Huia’s plans to make it big have suffered a setback after her Instagram was taken down, something she claims is the result of jealousy from content creators using her story for clout.
‘Meta sent me a message saying they have disabled my page for money laundering and fraud, which is obviously ridiculous,’ she said.
‘I have handled everything really well online. I have been attacked, abused and bullied and I haven’t bitten back to one thing.
‘They are reporting me because everyone is getting famous off the back of me and utilising my situation for their own gain.’
Te Huia said she is not letting the negativity get her down and is instead focusing on the support she has received.
‘I’m not reading any of the negative messages and I’m just blocking people but I have had so much support,’ she said.
‘So many people have said, “Keep shining, queen. Keep being you.” Those people have followed me since the start and they know me.
‘And lots of people are saying they wish I was their stepmum and saying they’d sleep with me too because I’m so hot.’
