  • Cool-Girl Mules: Sunset Sneaker Mule, $225
  • Ultra-Supportive Design: Recovery Mode Sneaker, $195

Living in Los Angeles, I spend the majority of my days outdoors. I’m an avid runner and tennis player, and I take walks around the miles-long reservoir across the street from my home almost daily. So it should come as no surprise that wearing comfortable shoes is super important to me.

Even on my off days, I prioritize supportive shoes that help reduce any lingering knee, foot, or ankle pain. Over the years, I’ve reached for multiple styles of Alo shoes, but my latest addition — the Runner sneakers — is the most versatile pair yet. The cushiony design from the Kris Jenner-worn brand suits my needs for both activity and recovery, plus they look sleek.

As the brand’s first-ever pair of performance shoes, they have a stabilizing heel clip, which I’ve found helps me feel solid when walking on uneven surfaces and gravel roads. The extra-firm cushioned sole ensures support whether I’m running, walking, or doing a high-intensity workout, and I’ve worn them while walking more than 10,000 steps a day for weeks without blisters.

While I’m already a huge fan of the brand’s other sleek shoe options, including the Sunset Sneaker and Recovery Mode style, the Runners are by far my new go-to. My active lifestyle results in frequent bouts of pain in my knees, ankles, and the arches of my foot, but I have noticed a significant reduction in that discomfort when wearing these compared to other sneakers in my lineup. Their lightweight material and breathable mesh exterior add to that comfortable feeling, especially as temperatures continue to rise.

Don’t just take it from me — these shoes have nearly 600 five-star ratings from thrilled customers, including one shopper who said the pair converted them “from a Hoka girl to an Alo Runner girl” and added that it “feels like you’re walking on clouds.” Another reviewer echoed my sentiments, sharing that there was “not a blister in sight” after wearing them for a three-mile walk right out of the box.

The Runner Sneaker comes in both core and limited color options, including neutral and vibrant shades. Grab them for your upcoming summer activities, and keep scrolling to shop more Alo sneakers below.

Ballet sneakers are all the rage this season, and Alo’s version is a nice option to ease into the trend. In addition to a slim, sleek profile, it has a padded insole, which shoppers say makes them supportive enough to “walk for hours and not be uncomfy.” The shoes also have a 100-percent suede upper and come in 11 colors, including pair-with-anything neutrals and statement-making shades like red and blue.

The mule iteration of the Sunset Sneaker is also an on-trend and practical pick for summer, especially if you’re someone who prefers something easy to slip on and run out the door. Whether you’re grabbing coffee or heading to the office, these shoes pair well with track pants, trousers, and more. Style tip: You can wear them with or without socks.

The downside to slim silhouettes is that they tend to run narrow, so if you have wide feet, consider the Recovery Mode Sneaker. But not only does it have a roomier toe box, but it’s also designed to support pressure points, as the name suggests. A customer who stands for up to 14 hours a day at work shared that the shoes “help alleviate my foot, knee, and back pain” after long shifts.
