The starting price for a ticket to Game 3 of the NBA Finals has skyrocketed to north of $7,000 in the wake of the Knicks’ stunning victory over the Spurs on Wednesday night. Those hoping to sit courtside face paying up to $158,000.

Excitement around New York has reached fever pitch after Jalen Brunson fought through injury to lead the Knicks to a 105-95 victory in Game 1. In San Antonio on Wednesday night, New York battled back from 14 points down in the second half to move to within three wins of glory.
The two teams will meet again in Texas on Friday night before the series heads to Madison Square Garden for Game 3.
It will be the first NBA Finals game in New York City for 27 years but fans hoping to buy a ticket face paying eye-watering prices.
On one resale site, the cheapest single ticket is going for nearly $8,300, while a pair of seats will cost you at least $7,200 apiece – even to sit in the nosebleeds. Courtside tickets at MSG are on sale between $64,000 and $157,300.

Prices have climbed significantly even in recent days. Last weekend, for instance, fans could have secured a spot at Game 3 for around $4,700.
Tickets to Madison Square Garden for Game 4 and Game 6 – when the series could be decided in New York – are similarly expensive. Courtside seats for Game 6 are currently on offer for between $94,000 and $220,200.
In San Antonio, meanwhile, prices for Games 2, 5 and 7 are significantly cheaper. On Friday night, for instance, fans can buy tickets to Frost Bank Center for less than $900.
Many Knicks fans made the trip to San Antonio for Game 1 of New York’s first NBA Finals appearance this century.
Their 105-95 victory marked a first win in the championship series since Game 3 in 1999, when they also faced the Spurs. Back in Manhattan, meanwhile, fans flooded out of Madison Square Garden and spilled on to the streets in celebration.
One fan in San Antonio left his seat during the fourth quarter and stormed the court to take a selfie with Victor Wembanyama. Play was stopped for around a minute as security grabbed the man and led him away.
