Owen Wilson & Jason Keller On Making Of ‘Stick’ [Podcast]

Although set in the world of golf, the Jason Keller-created series captures the idiosyncrasies, cynicisms, headaches and ambitions of young athletes no matter how talented they are. Oh, and that nagging coach who’s in their head.

Owen Wilson plays a former pro golfer, Pryce Cahill, who has seen better days, now working on the fumes of a gambling habit and dealing with a divorce. He takes on a wunderkind in Peter Dager’s Santi, who like Al Pacino in Godfather III, just when he tries to get out, they pull him back in. Of course, blame Dad for any handicaps. If you played competitive football, baseball, volleyball, etc., you’ll live vicariously through Pryce and Santi. (Growing up in Texas, Wilson was, during his high school days, you got it, a football player.

Stick has already shot Season 2 and Keller is in post. No drop date yet. We chat with Keller and Wilson on working with the actor’s fave film directors who helmed episodes in Season 1, the state of comedy and Wedding Crashers II.
