Mikayla Nogueira shared some new details about what happened before she and her high school sweetheart rekindled their romance.

On Sunday, May 24, the content creator posted a TikTok recalling her history with her boyfriend, Zach, using three photos of them together. The first slide featured the pair posing for a selfie snapped in the car with their lips pouted, seemingly just a few moments away from kissing.

Nogueira, 27, introduced him in overlaying text, writing, "We just started dating again after 10 years. We dated in high school."

The following photo shows them walking together with their arms around each other. In another blurb set over the picture, the Point of View Beauty founder continued, "After high school, Zach fought to be with me for ten years straight. I was in college, he was in the military," she wrote. "The timing was never right. I didn't want to do long distance."

Despite their previously incompatible circumstances, Nogueira said they remained in each other's lives and "always cared deeply for each other."

"We rooted for each other through every relationship, success, and struggle," she told her 17.4 million TikTok followers. "Every few years, he tried again to win my heart. He respected when the timing wasn't right, but was patient."

She concluded with another selfie of them grinning while looking into the camera. "He never gave up. And that's my why," she wrote. In the TikTok's caption, Nogueira added, "No one brings out my smile quite like him."

The makeup mogul first confirmed that she was dating her high school sweetheart, whom she said she met "naturally in class 10 years ago," in March. Over one month earlier, Nogueira revealed she was divorcing her husband of over two years, Cody Hawken, 28. She recently discussed their legal proceedings in a candid video posted to her TikTok on May 20.

“Quite frankly, I could throw up,” Nogueira told her online community as she did her makeup before appearing in court. “I would not wish divorce on anybody. This has been the hardest thing I have ever gone through in my life."

Nogueira said that she and Hawken have a trial date set for July, calling the divorce process “agonizing.”

“The main thing I've learned about divorce is that you don't just sign a piece of paper and call it a day. It takes an extremely long time,” she said. “For me, I at least have an end in sight.”
