Track pants are well on track to be my most-worn clothing item of the year — and it’s all thanks to Jennifer Lawrence.

Earlier this week, the actress, 35, broke out yet another pair of the sporty bottoms while frolicking around New York City. Keyword: Another. You see, Lawrence is a known track pants stan and the celebrity who first convinced me to give the trend a try.

Ever since she stepped out in what appeared to be a comfy Adidas pair back in 2024, I have been hooked — and a slew of other celebrities, including Oprah Winfrey, Brooke Shields, and Sarah Jessica Parker have worn them, too. I couldn’t write about track pants without including this Adidas pair, my favorite pick. They’re as comfortable as sweatpants, so I love wearing them to lounge around the house, meet up with friends at the movies, and even for travel.

That said, despite their relaxed fit, they also look nice and upscale when paired with spiffy basics like loafers, blazers, and sweaters. They also don’t wrinkle when I throw them around in my suitcase, drawers, and closet, which makes getting dressed way more enjoyable. (I’m also preaching about track pants so often that I’ve since convinced my boss, Alex Nelson, to get on board, too.)

Lululemon Court Rival Wide-Leg Track Pant

While these Lululemon track pants are more of a splurge, they’re a close match to J.Law’s, so they deserve a spot on this list and in your wardrobe. They’re also sweat-wicking and provide sun protection, so they’re about as summer-ready as they come. Oh, and there’s a matching jacket if you want to have a two-piece moment à la Oprah.

Amazon also has this machine-washable pair that one shopper decided on as an “alternative to jeans.” Much like my Adidas pair, they have seams running down the fronts of both legs — which imitate the look of pleated pants, giving them even more style appeal — as well as the classic side stripes for that authentic sporty feel. They also come in five different inseam lengths (yes, really!), so you can get them as cropped or as long as you’d like.
