Senior skip day at a Rhode Island beach turned into a bloody crime scene after three people were stabbed and hundreds of teens ran to escape the scene.
Police and fire crews responded to the Narragansett Town Beach at 3.04 pm on Tuesday after reports that multiple people had been stabbed, officials said.
Officers discovered three victims suffering from knife wounds who were immediately treated on the scene before being transported to a local hospital, according to the Narragansett Police Department.
Police Chief Kyle Rekas told The Providence Journal that the stabbings were a result of one incident among several taking place at the beach that day.
Hundreds of beachgoers attempted to flee the beach, creating chaos that led to several other minor disturbances, according to officials.
Footage taken at the beach, which is about 32 miles from Providence, showed a vicious brawl break out with at least a dozen people attacking each other while many appear to take out their phones to film.
The police placed two adults into custody on charges of disorderly conduct, resisting arrest, and obstruction of justice, but noted that the arrests are not related to the stabbings.
The Narragansett Police Department thanked several agencies for their response and noted that the investigation is ongoing.

The stabbing is a seemingly out-of-character incident at Narragansett Town Beach, which is described as picturesque with clean beaches and an ideal getaway, according to Forbes.
Reports of sharks or lists of best beaches were primarily the only reasons Narragansett Town Beach ever made headlines before the stabbing.
Several users online shared their disappointment after watching their peaceful beach break out into a violent disaster.
‘Absolutely insane that there was a stabbing at Narragansett Town Beach today. You should be able to go to the beach with your family without worrying about violence breaking out,’ one user wrote.
‘Narragansett is turning into a free-for-all lately. At least when they start charging for the beach again, a lot of the riffraff stays away. Praying the victims are OK.’

‘They charged to get on it so you could rest assured the scum of the Earth wouldn’t end up there. Today, a brawl and a stabbing. I’m so sick of it. Everywhere you go, you have to worry about trash, violence, theft, robbery.’

The beach is technically not open until May 25, and access costs $12.
Additionally, several policies listed by the beach prohibit loud music, obscene or vulgar language, and alcoholic beverages.
