Kayce Dutton's team of U.S. Marshals seems to be unraveling going into the season 1 finale.

In the penultimate episode of Marshals, which aired on Sunday, May 17, the team Kayce (Luke Grimes) joined at the behest of his old Navy SEAL teammate, Cal (Logan Marshall-Green), is facing some major setbacks.

Andrea (Ash Santos) has been vocal all season long about her desire to get back to the East Coast and escape Montana. But when she's offered a spot on the Washington, D.C. team, she seems more torn than expected about the idea of leaving.

The episode also finally revealed Cal's health challenges. After weeks of leaving fans wondering about his diagnosis, Cal told Belle (Arielle Kebbel) that he has a Pancoast tumor, which is a symptom of a rare form of lung cancer.

Belle was immediately concerned, but he told her he doesn't have a treatment plan yet and is taking one thing at a time — especially considering she's the first person he's told about the diagnosis.

Belle has some concerns of her own, too, as it was revealed that she owes $20,000 in casino debt, which she's been keeping a secret from her husband and struggling to pay off.

Miles (Tatanka Means), meanwhile, went rogue in the episode. He learned of the fatal drug overdose of his lifelong friend, Sabrina, and was frustrated when the team was sidelined after learning who was responsible for selling fentanyl on the Broken Rock reservation.

Instead of abiding by his orders to stand down, Miles blew off plans with Maddie (Morgan Lindholm) to hunt down Diaz, the man in charge of the cartel responsible for the fentanyl. Kayce and Cal tracked him down and intervened before he could kill Diaz, but the rogue mission was enough to get Miles suspended indefinitely, and Cal took his badge and his gun.

The episode left off with a cliffhanger about Kayce's fate. Tom (Chris Mulkey) initially shared his interest in buying East Camp off Kayce earlier this season, but now, the protagonist seems more open to the idea. At the end of the episode, Tom and his daughter, Dolly (Ellyn Jameson), arrived at Kayce's house to have a more serious conversation about a possible sale.

Kayce had initially worried what his son, Tate (Brecken Merrill), would think about selling East Camp, given it's where they lived with Monica (Kelsey Asbille), but Tate quelled those concerns and told his dad that home is wherever they are together.

The fate of the land — which Kayce kept for his family in the Yellowstone finale after selling the rest of his family's land back to Broken Rock — remains up in the air going into the season finale.

The season 1 finale of Marshals airs Sunday, May 24 at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
