The Xiaomi Modular Optical System has been debuted by the tech brand as a conceptual rendering of what could be done to make mobile devices even better at snapping photos in the field. The platform imagines the ability to attach high-quality lenses to the rear of the smartphone, which would enable users to enjoy premium experiences and simply remove it when not in use. The system utilizes a proprietary setup that would see the lens module positioned onto the rear magnetically, just adjacent to the built-in camera lenses, for an intuitive user experience.

The Xiaomi Modular Optical System was shown off by the brand at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) 2025 and will remain a concept for the time being.
