As for how they got together, Sharna recalls summoning the courage to approach Sasha one tipsy night during a Burn the Floor tour stop in Reno, Nev.

“Sasha’s room and I—we were next door to each other,” she explained, “and at one night my bold little self just went over and like knocked on his door and was like, ‘Hi.’” 

Although she couldn’t remember the exact length of their relationship, Sharna said she stayed with Sasha for most of her six-year run on Burn the Floor. After her father began experiencing health problems, she left the show to return home to be with him—leading to a breakup with her ex.

“When I was home, it was just too hard,” she concluded. “Like, I never knew when I was going to be back on tour again. Sash was with the tour and it was like, “When are our wires in our lives’ paths ever going to cross again?’ And so, we broke up over that video call, Skype.”
