Trump risks surprise appearance at $20m PGA Tour event… hours after Secret Service detained man at president’s course

Donald Trump appeared to make a lowkey entrance as he arrived for the Cadillac Championship 2026 in Miami on Sunday afternoon.

The PGA Tour returns to President Trump’s Miami golf course this week for the first time since 2016 as Doral’s Blue Monster hosts the inaugural competition.

During the final round of the competition, which boasts a staggering $20m prize fund, Trump was spotted pulling into the ‘Trump Suite’, flanked by granddaughter Kai Trump and Vanessa Trump.

The event marks the first time the PGA Tour has returned to Doral since the World Golf Championships event in 2016.

However, the field is missing five of the top 15 players, led by Masters champion Rory McIlroy. Also skipping the event are Xander Schauffele and Ludvig Aberg.

The President’s arrival, meanwhile, came just hours after a man was taken into custody by Secret Service agents.

Footage, posted on social media on Saturday, showed the man being detained by officers at a security checkpoint at Trump National Doral Golf Club in Miami.

He was arrested after allegedly defying orders and ‘getting physical’ with a Secret Service agent, the New York Post reported.

It is claimed the man was later taken to a correctional center in Miami and charged with disorderly conduct and resisting without violence.

‘At no point did this situation impact the established security posture for any upcoming visits to Trump National Doral Golf Club by Secret Service protectees,’ a Secret Service Miami spokesperson told The Post.

The incident comes a week after Cole Thomas Allen, 31, allegedly attempted to storm the White House Correspondents’ Dinner in Washington.
