Two years after getting engaged, the Los Angeles Lakers point guard announced the couple’s breakup, sharing that he is focusing on their daughters Gabriela and Olivia.

“I love my daughters more than anything and I’ve been doing everything I can for them to be with me in the U.S. during the season, but that hasn’t been possible,” Luka said in a statement to ESPN March 10, “so I recently made the tough decision to end my engagement.”

“Everything I do is for my daughters’ happiness,” he continued, “and I will always fight to be with them and give them the best life I can.”

Prior to Luca speaking out, Anamaria filed a legal petition in California seeking child support and attorney’s fees, according to court documents obtained by E! News.
