Storage Wars’ Darrell Sheets Was “Terrified for His Life” Before Death, Says Costar
The Storage Wars family is honoring the life of Darrell Sheets.
Days after the A&E star—who ran a business of buying abandoned storage units at auctions—died in an apparent suicide, the docuseries paid tribute to him during the April 25 episode of Storage Wars: Back to the Locker.
“In Memoriam Darrell Sheets,” read a title at the end of the episode, per Us Weekly, alongside the dates of Sheets’ birth and death.
Sheets was found dead at a home in Lake Havasu City, Ariz., on April 22, police told E! News in a statement, noting he appeared to have died by suicide, though the case remains under investigation. He was 67.
Following his death, Sheets’ costar Laura Dotson shared the extent to which his mental health was affected by cyberbullying.
“His family told us that this has been happening for three years,” Dotson told Us Weekly in an interview published April 24. “[It happens to] even strong men that you think aren’t gonna get their feelings hurt. Cyberbullying is a real thing. This made him feel less than, and it really obviously bothered him.”
