The 5 minute shoe care video presented is not to show you any magic that you can possibly create in 5 minutes. It is a video to show you that good share-care practices can be achieved in as little as 5 minutes when you dedicate yourself to them. What is shown here is something everyone can achieve and do. And the more you do it, the better you will get at it and the more time you will save. In the end, your shoes will thank you and so will your wallets.
Nothing destroys leather faster than a lack of treatment after consistent encounters with the Earth’s elements: Dry heat, rain, snow, wet grass, etc. Yet these are things we will all encounter in our daily lives. Too often, we simply kick off our shoes at the end of a long day and leave them sitting there with all of the residue of these elements left atop the leather. I know this as I am also guilty of this, believe it or not. If left untreated, over time those elements slowly deteriorate your leather.
The deterioration of your leather is seen through premature cracking, super deep creasing, water staining, overly dry leather, and more. A lot of it can be prevented with a simple dedication of a 5 minute shoe care regime that will eventually become second nature.
The goal is to show you that instead of just putting your shoes away and forgetting about them, take them out the next day (the same day for heat, the next day for wet to allow drying) and give them a quick treatment before storing them until the next use. There are no tricks or magical cuts to show you any sort of greatness. This is just about maintaining a good old-fashioned shoe care regime to keep your shoes lasting as long as possible.
And all it takes is 5 minutes.
