If you’re a fantasy fan, there hasn’t been much for you at the multiplexin the 2020s. Sure, there was the How to Train Your Dragon remake, and technically musical films Kpop Demon Hunters and Wicked both fall into the fantasy genre, but if you are a fan of good ol’ sword and sorcery, it has been a rough few years.
The lone bright spot has been 2023’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, which was universally-acclaimed upon release, garnering a 91% Certified Fresh critical rating, and an even higher 92% positive audience rating on Rotten Tomatoes. The film features an all-star cast led by Chris Pine, who plays bard-turned-thief Edgin, who puts together a party of reluctant would-be heroes in an effort to not only right a personal wrong, but save his kingdom from ruin. Rounding out the cast are Michelle Rodriguez, Regé-Jean Page, Justice Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Hugh Grant. Bradley Cooper also makes an appearance in a surprisingly hilarious cameo.
Given how stacked the cast of Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is, and how well it was received upon release, it might be surprising to learn that the movie was a box office flop, and plans for a sequel were unfortunately scrapped mere weeks after the film was initially released.
However, if you missed this movie in theaters, here’s your opportunity to check out what, in my opinion, is the best fantasy film of the decade, for the low cost of nothing at all.

Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves is coming to Pluto TV June 1
This marks the first time the film has ever been free to stream
Pluto TV recently revealed that starting on June 1, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves will finally be available to stream for free for the first time ever on the platform, of course with the usual ad breaks that you would expect from the platform.

In addition to Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, 2023 animated film Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem will also be making its free streaming debut on Pluto TV on June 1.
This movie is another example of another acclaimed movie (it has a 95% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes) that struggled at the box office. Critics praised the film’s unique style, soundtrack and voice work from A-list actors including Ayo Edebiri, Jackie Chan, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd, John Cena and Ice Cube.
