An active shooter who has since been apprehended in Texas left ‘multiple’ people injured.
The suspect opened fire in the Kings Colony neighborhood, 25 miles from Houston, on Saturday around 5pm.
Police confirmed multiple injuries and urged the public to avoid the rural area in New Caney.
It is still unclear how many people were shot and the victims’ conditions.
‘Law enforcement is currently responding to an active shooting in the Nottingham Rd area of the Kings Colony neighborhood in East County,’ read a statement from the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
‘Multiple individuals have been shot. If you are outside the area, please avoid it and do not enter.
‘If you are in the neighborhood, obey all commands from law enforcement, as they are on scene and actively working to bring the situation under control.’
Around 7.30pm local time, the sheriff released a statement letting the public know that a suspect had been apprehended.
