Richard Gere Reacts to Son Homer Gere’s Euphoria Role

Homer Gere, runaway actor.

Richard Gere is in awe of his eldest son’s skyrocketing acting career following his unexpected role in the final season of HBO’s Euphoria.

“I would have been happy to say, ‘Homer, forget it. Don’t do this,'” he exclusively told E! News’ Will Marfuggi while promoting season two of The Agency. “But he wasn’t pointed towards it. This came late. He’s 26 years old.”

“He was an artist,” Richard explained of Homer, who he shares with ex-wife Carey Lowell. “He had a degree in visual arts and his second was in psychology. He was in a different headframe altogether, and this started as a fluke with him of making student films and writing them, directing them, acting in them and just fooling around, and he was having fun.”

However, the 76-year-old’s  perspective on his son’s acting prospects changed when Homer finally showed him what he had been working on.

“He showed me what he was doing,” he recalled, “and I said, ‘You are really good.'”
